Ant

Ants are belonged to Hymenoptera, in which they grow in complete metamorphosis, starting from eggs, to the larva stages, then the pupal stage before emerging as an adult. Ants have got a very distinct caste system, including wingless females as the queen, Drone and worker class.

Queen
They are large in size; on a special season every year, a new queen will be produced. The new queen will leave the nest and find a suitable location for a new nest. The mating process with the new queen happens in the air; once the process is over, the queen will land on the new location, drop off the wings and start building a new nest. There could be more than one queen in a colony, their main responsibility is to lay eggs, hatch eggs and manage the society.
Drone
Drones are slightly smaller in size compare to the queen; their sole responsibility is to mate with the queen as they have fully developed reproductive organs. They do not have to take part in labouring work, also they are fed by the workers. They have a relative short lifespan.
Worker
Worker ants are seen as the main labour force within the colony. They are the smallest in size among all groups, but in greatest quantities. Their main jobs are to build and expand the colony, to collect food, to feed pupae and the queen.

As we all know, ants are tough insects, they could survive in extreme environment. In order to prevent ants’ invasion in your household, starting with clearing food waste properly is essential:
1. Food waste is the major cause of ants’ invasion; by clearing food waster properly, it could help to prevent ants from entering the household.
2. Seal food properly, use a box with plastic lid to cover food entirely.
3. Keep the internal environment clean and tidy, use sweeper and hoover for cleaning regularly.
4. If the ants’ problem became serious, please contact professional helpers for pest control services.
